Thicknesses, grades and assist gases
The table is the machine's cutting envelope: these thicknesses we cut, anything thicker we cannot. If your thickness is at the limit, call before sending a request.
| Material | Thickness | Grades |
|---|---|---|
| Structural steel | 0,5 – 18 mm | S235 · S355 |
| Stainless steel | 0,5 – 8 mm | AISI 304 · AISI 316 |
| Aluminium | 0,5 – 5 mm | EN AW-5754 · EN AW-6082 |
Leopion 1530 · 3000 × 1500 mm
Assist gas
Why the gas changes
Steel is cut with oxygen: the molten metal burns of its own accord and the heat carries the cut forward, which makes thick plate fast. Stainless and aluminium are cut with nitrogen, which blows the melt clear without oxidising the edge — the cut face stays bright and needs no rework.
Oxygen
Thick steel
The burn supplies part of the cutting heat itself, so even thick plate comes free quickly.
- Structural steel0,5–18 mm
Edge: a thin oxide layer
Nitrogen
Stainless and aluminium
Nitrogen blows the melt clear without oxidising the edge. Slower, but the face is finished.
- Stainless steel0,5–8 mm
- Aluminium0,5–5 mm
Edge: bright, no rework
Your own material
You can bring your own sheet. Say so in the quote request: the pricing changes, and we need to know the size and condition of the sheet in advance.
Send a drawing and get a price
We answer by the end of the next working day. A drawing is enough — if anything is unclear, we will ask.
